How tall can a privacy fence be in Peru or LaSalle?
Most villages around here allow six feet in a back yard and limit front yard fences to around four. Eight feet usually needs a variance. We check your village code before quoting so the number you get is the one you can actually build.
How much does a privacy fence cost?
It comes down to linear feet, height, material and gate count. A six foot vinyl run and an eight foot run with two gates are very different numbers. We measure and put it in writing.
Vinyl or wood for privacy?
Vinyl costs more up front and needs nothing after. Wood costs less to install and wants staining every few years. If you want it to look the same in ten years without work, go vinyl.
Will there be a gap at the bottom?
Not if it is set out properly. On a slope we step or rack the panels to follow the grade rather than running them level and leaving a wedge underneath.
Do I need a permit?
Usually yes, and we pull it. We also call JULIE so nothing underground gets hit when we auger the post holes.
